Edu Gaspar says two people at Arsenal honestly don’t get enough credit

Arsenal are finally seeing the rewards of the rebuild that began back in 2019.

The Gunners are Premier League champions once again and are now just one game away from becoming champions of Europe for the first time in their history.

Mikel Arteta deserves enormous praise for transforming Arsenal into one of the best teams in the world. The players, coaching staff and Andrea Berta have all played important roles too.

However, Edu Gaspar, who started this project, believes there are two other figures at Arsenal who deserve much more appreciation than they receive – the Kroenkes.

Edu Gaspar says Stan and Josh Kroenke do not get enough credit at Arsenal

For years, many Arsenal supporters viewed Stan Kroenke negatively because of the club’s decline during the latter stages of Arsene Wenger’s reign.

There were also concerns over whether the ownership truly cared about competing for the biggest trophies.

However, Arsenal’s recent rise has only been possible because of huge investment behind the scenes from their owners.

The Kroenkes backed Arteta heavily in the transfer market and consistently supported the long-term rebuild even during difficult moments.

Josh Kroenke has been hands-on with his involvement as well.

Edu believes that commitment often goes unnoticed.

Speaking recently, the former Arsenal sporting director told ESPN: “I don’t think sometimes Mr Kroenke and Josh Kroenke get the credit they deserve to be fair.

“I can promise you for my family, always when I presented to them a plan of a window, what to do, how to do, what to sell and buy, because we present properly to them.

“Me and Mikel never just talked to them, we explained to them, we gave reasons to them, and honestly, I never received one ‘no.’”

That insight says a huge amount about how Arsenal’s ownership has operated during this rebuild.

The Kroenkes have already made a big promise about Arsenal’s future

One of the most encouraging things for Arsenal supporters is that the club’s owners clearly do not view this season as the end of the journey.

Even after winning the Premier League, the ambition inside Arsenal remains enormous. The Kroenkes recently made that very clear in a statement discussing the club’s future direction.

They said, as per Arsenal’s official website: “The connection we feel with our supporters fills us with pride. Between us, we are building something very special and, wherever this month of May takes us, there will be no standing still when the season ends.

“We are always forward in our approach, taking the learnings as we go and relentless in the pursuit of progress.

“We remain focused on raising the standard, creating the best possible environment for our players and people to succeed, and elevating the unity that exists between club and community.”

That should massively excite Arsenal supporters because it suggests the club are determined to build a dynasty rather than simply enjoy one successful season.
