Arsenal have made contact with Napoli over the prospect of striking a deal for Victor Osimhen.
Arsenal want to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen next summer and sporting director Edu has already held discussions with the Serie A side over the possibility of an agreement being reached, as reported by Football Transfers.
Napoli know they will likely have to cash in on their superstar goalscorer at some point, but they will want a huge fee in exchange for his services. The Italian outfit are thought to have put a £130 million price tag on Osimhen, according to The Daily Mail. Despite this, Edu must still believe a deal can be done.
Osimhen may well be worth such a huge investment. The 24-year-old has been called “the best striker in the world.” He also fired Napoli to their first Serie A title since the Diego Maradona-inspired triumph of 1990 last season. Osimhen scored 26 goals in 32 league outings to help secure the historic success.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
Bringing Osimhen to the Emirates Stadium would represent a huge statement of intent from Arsenal. He has the potential to rival Erling Haaland’s impact in the Premier League. The Norwegian forward managed 36 Premier League strikes last season in a record-breaking campaign.

Arsenal must remain worthy of Osimhen
The prospect of Osimhen linking up with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard, under the watch of Mikel Arteta, is a tantalising one. However, this is not a deal that could be done in what remains of this summer’s transfer window.
If the Gunners are determined to bring the 25-cap Nigeria international to north London next summer, then they need to ensure that they are still an attractive destination to a player of such calibre at that time.
If Arsenal hadn’t had such a fine season last time out, challenging for the Premier League title and securing a return to Champions League football, then it is likely that they wouldn’t have been able to lure Declan Rice to the club in a £105 million deal this summer.
The same rules apply for tempting Osimhen. Arsenal must get it right on the pitch this season to ensure they’re well placed to snap up some of the top talents in the game.
