Emile Smith Rowe has picked up a fresh injury after the Arsenal playmaker rolled his ankle in training heading into last weekend’s clash against West Ham.

Mikel Arteta confirmed that the winger could be out for a few matches, with Smith Rowe enduring yet another injury problem having already spent most of the campaign out on the treatment table.

Yet good news could soon be about to come from the horizon, with Arsenal taking on Burnley this weekend at Turf Moor in a huge must-win game for the north London side.

According to journalist Charles Watts, there’s a chance that Smith Rowe could be fit enough to feature for Arsenal this Saturday against Burnley, a boost that the Gunners will welcome.

The England international has impressed massively with every chance given his way by Arteta, and Smith Rowe will be itching to return to the pitch having missed last weekend’s 6-0 win at West Ham.

Watts wrote when detailing the extent of Smith Rowe’s latest injury: “Smith Rowe’s ankle will be monitored this week to see if he could be involved against Burnley on Saturday.

“But even if he is unable to feature against Vincent Kompany’s side, he will not be sidelined for long and that will be a boost to Arsenal with the big games now coming thick and fast.

Arsenal record their best-ever Premier League away win on Sunday at the London Stadium, with the Gunners hitting their best patch of form so far this season.

And away to Burnley this weekend, Arsenal will want to replicate the scoreline they put on West Ham, with Turf Moor the ideal ground for the Gunners to make yet another massive statement.

Indeed, Burnley’s status as Premier League relegation fodder means Vincent Kompany’s side are there for the taking, with Arsenal in a rich vein of form.

And if the north London side turn up the pressure, they could easily win big on the road, even if Smith Rowe once again misses out through injury.
