Emmanuel Adebayor believes that Arsenal need Viktor Gyokeres to score 10 to 12 more goals to help them win the Premier League title.

The Gunners moved five points clear over the weekend following their 4-1 thumping of Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

Who from the current top five will Viktor Gyokeres outscore in the Premier League this season? 👀

Gyokeres produced his best Arsenal performance so far as he netted a brace against Spurs, taking his goal tally to 15 for the season.

However, Adebayor has demanded more from the striker and believes the Gunners need him to step up to help win the Premier League.

Emmanuel Adebayor demands 10 more goals from Viktor Gyokeres

Emmanuel Adebayor claims that Arsenal will not win the Premier League if their striker, Viktor Gyokeres, finishes the season on just 10 league goals.

After 26 Premier League matches, the Swedish international has only just broken into double figures, and the ex-Gunners striker thinks he needs to score at least 10 more.

“This is the time we need a striker who can bring the league to the club. It’s him, if they are to win the league, he needs to score at least 10 more goals until the end of the season to win the league,” Adebayor told Premier League Productions.

“If he scores 10/12 goals this season, you can’t win the league with your top striker scoring just 10/12 goals.”

Gyokeres is just two goals away from matching Alexander Lacazette’s tally of 17, making him the Gunners’ highest-scoring player in his debut campaign since 2018.

Right now, it’s hard to argue against the Swede’s impressive goal record, but he must now continue his form from the Spurs match in the final ten games.

Tim Sherwood thinks Viktor Gyokeres is using too much energy

Meanwhile, Tim Sherwood has warned Gyokeres that he is using too much energy in physical battles when he needs to focus on his movement.

Speaking on Premier League Productions’ The Weekend Wrap, Sherwood said: “Some of the things he needs to learn, he should already have learned. He spent so much time fighting with Dragusin. How much energy does that take up?

“Sometimes you just need to use your body and knock people and then come away, but he’s wrestling all game. He can use his body better. He uses so much energy wrestling with defenders time and time again, but his movement needs to be cuter.”
