Bukayo Saka’s recent dip in form has become one of the biggest talking points around Arsenal.
There are several theories doing the rounds as to why the England international has struggled in recent weeks. Saka was really poor in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.
Ally McCoist believes it is simply a dip in form for Saka, which is something that can happen to any player over the course of a long season.
Piers Morgan, however, has suggested that fatigue could be the reason, but Emmanuel Petit is having none of that.
What is disappointing you most about Bukayo Saka right now?
Emmanuel Petit disagrees with Piers Morgan’s Bukayo Saka claim
Bukayo Saka has had a difficult season, and he will be the first one to admit that he has not been at his best on the pitch.
It is not just about his performances either, as he has also had to deal with a couple of injuries that have disrupted his rhythm.
Looking at his display against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, you wouldn’t be wrong to think he looked tired.

That is exactly what Morgan believes, but Petit has rejected that suggestion completely.
The Arsenal legend said on talkSPORT: “Did you hear what Piers was saying? He is tired.
“Tired of what? He was injured so many times. He had a proper pre-season, proper vacation. So I don’t know what happened.
“Is it because of the new players that have come into the team? Has that been challenging?”
POV: You’re Mikel Arteta, are you dropping Bukayo Saka for Noni Madueke?
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka will get his rest, even if he does not need it
The current international break offers Saka a chance to reset, regardless of the reason behind his form.
The Arsenal number seven is not expected to be pushed to his limits with England as he usually is. Thomas Tuchel has only asked him to report for duty on Friday.
That means he is likely to feature in just one of England’s two upcoming matches, which would be the clash against Japan next week.
Arsenal’s next game is the FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton, where Saka is unlikely to start anyway. Noni Madueke is expected to get the nod in that game.
So, Saka will get the rest he needs, whether fatigue has been a factor or not. We hope that will help him return to his best because Arsenal need him.
