Arsenal youngster Max Dowman is set for another busy international break, but one that looks slightly different as part of the England youth setup.

The 15-year-old has risen through the ranks with the Gunners, moving through to senior training for a few months before finally featuring in the team.

Dowman made his debut appearance for Arsenal against Leeds, as he came off the bench to help win a late penalty.

There’s plenty more to come, if that cameo was anything to go by, and Mikel Arteta will be doing all in his power to ensure that potential is reached.

It’s a game of development, though, having the patience to nurture someone like Dowman through at Arsenal, while also needing results at the same time.

Fortunately, all the signs are there that he can be a top player, and that is also reflected in his status within the England setup.

Max Dowman handed England promotion for international duty

With the international break just around the corner, players are learning their fate for the coming two weeks and whether they will be involved for their nations.

Plenty of Arsenal stars will be featuring around the globe, as qualification for the World Cup steps up on the senior stage.

There are also some important games within the youth ranks, as academy stars look to make their mark as they progress through the age groups.

Among those is Dowman, who was previously part of the under-17s setup for England, but he has landed a promotion.

The youngster has been named in the under-19s squad for their upcoming friendlies against Ukraine and the Netherlands.

It marks some good news for the Arsenal academy ace, who is looking to make progress at every possible turn.

He follows in the footsteps of Ethan Nwaneri, who was part of the under-19s setup last year, before moving into the under-21s team.

Arsenal ace Jack Porter also handed England under-19s promotion

It’s not only Dowman who has been handed a promotion from the England under-17s to the under-19s, as goalkeeper Jack Porter joins him too.

The youngster became the youngest-ever starting player for the Gunners last year, when he started in an EFL Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers.

Porter’s debut went into the history books, but it may be a long road still before he is involved again in the senior side.

For goalkeepers, it often takes longer before they are involved, due to the experience needed alongside the risk of putting a youngster in that position.

Porter is taking all the right steps so far, and his progression through the England ranks certainly suggests he is one for the future.
