Despite beating the Gunners a few weeks ago, City were unable to keep the pressure on them, and Arsenal have run away with the title.

Following Arsenal’s first title win in 22 years, Haaland has hailed one of his Norwegian teammates, Odegaard, who will get to lift the trophy on Sunday.

Erling Haaland congratulates Martin Odegaard on Premier League title win

Erling Haaland has just congratulated Martin Odegaard on winning his first Premier League title as Arsenal captain.

The Manchester City striker says his national teammate fully deserves the Premier League trophy following a very impressive season.

The 25-year-old is also delighted that the player who is going to lift the Premier League title is someone from Norway.

Speaking to Viaplay, Haaland said: “When you get the most points, you deserve to win the league, so congrats to Martin (Odegaard).

“It’s well deserved. He deserves this trophy. It’ll be tough to see him lift the trophy, but it’s fantastic when a Norwegian lifts the Premier League trophy.”

Haaland now wants Man City to use Arsenal’s title win as fuel to go again next season, with City now two years without winning the league.

“It’s been two years now, it feels like forever. We’re going to do everything we can, everyone who will be here next season, to win the league,” he told mancity.com.

However, they will do so without Pep Guardiola, who is leaving, and Arteta’s side will already be confident in their chances of defending their title, with Enzo Maresca replacing Guardiola as manager.

Despite the point gap only being four points, City have much work to do to catch the Gunners, who have been far superior to them this season.
