So far, in his breakthrough season at Arsenal, 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri has been handed 230 minutes by Mikel Arteta.
Nwaneri has made eight appearances for Arsenal, including two from the start during wins in the EFL Cup.
However, that involvement hasn’t satisfied most Arsenal fans, who have been dying to see more of Nwaneri’s rich ability and flair on the pitch, especially whilst Martin Odegaard was injured.
Ian Wright even called for Nwaneri to play more often, a talent who is clearly equipped to go all the way at Arsenal.
Ethan Nwaneri wants to be as fast as Gabriel Martinelli
That being said, when speaking alongside Myles Lewis-Skelly, another brilliant youngster at the club, Nwaneri answered some fan questions in a recent interview.
In turn, Nwaneri ended up complimenting Gabriel Martinelli, a winger he’ll be excited to play alongside more often in the future.

Martinelli was excellent against Chelsea just before the international break, but has otherwise still endured a long period of indifferent form.
However, Nwaneri was still amazed by Martinelli’s speed – the one attribute he’d like to take from one of his teammates.
Nwaneri was asked: “If you could take one attribute from any of our current players, what would it be?”
He replied: “I’d take Martinelli’s speed, I’d be fake with that.”
Who is the fastest player at Arsenal?
Fortunately, Arsenal have recently settled the debate of who is the fastest player at the club, and it wasn’t Martinelli.
In fact, the Brazilian was only third fastest according to Arsenal’s statistics so far this season.
Ben White was in top spot, something that might surprise fans in north London, and he was then followed by Bukayo Saka and of course, Martinelli.
| Rank | Player | Highest speed (km/h) |
| 1 | Ben White | 36.36 |
| 2 | Bukayo Saka | 36.32 |
| 3 | Gabriel Martinelli | 36.03 |
| 4 | William Saliba | 35.56 |
| 5 | Raheem Sterling | 35.43 |
| 6 | Jakub Kiwior | 35.31 |
| 7 | Martin Odegaard | 34.92 |
| 8 | Riccardo Calafiori | 34.56 |
| 9 | Oleksandr Zinchenko | 34.20 |
| 10 | Declan Rice | 33.94 |
It is also a shock to see that Jakub Kiwior was all the way up in sixth position, a player not known for his recovery pace at all.
William Saliba often uses his speed to his advantage when defending, but Kiwior is rarely on the back foot, a defender who positions himself slightly deeper.
