Arsenal star Ethan Nwaneri is one of the most talented young players in world football.

The teenager became the youngest player in Premier League history to make an appearance when Mikel Arteta gave him his debut at the age of 15.

Since then, Nwaneri has become a regular in the first team, and he could now do something at Arsenal that hasn’t happened in nearly two decades.

Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri has been nominated for the 2025 Golden Boy award

TuttoSport have announced a 25-player shortlist for the 2025 Golden Boy award.

The prestigious accolade, which began in 2003, is given to the best U21 player in Europe’s top-tier leagues.

Among the shortlist this year is Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The two teenagers have been incredible for Arsenal over the last year and are deservedly in contention to win the award.

If either of them gets their hands on the trophy, they will become just the second Arsenal player in history to be named Golden Boy.

The only other Arsenal player to have won the award is Cesc Fabregas, back in 2006 – 19 years ago!

Ethan Nwaneri faces stiff competition in the race to win the Golden Boy award

25 of the most talented players in Europe are in the running for the Golden Boy award.

Nwaneri is an elite talent, but he faces immense competition – not just from outside but within Arsenal as well, as Lewis-Skelly has also been nominated.

Apart from him, Champions League winners Desire Doue and Warren Zaire-Emery, Real Madrid trio Arda Guler, Franco Mastantuono and Dean Huijsen, and Barcelona star Pau Cubrasi are candidates for the award.

It will not be easy, but seeing Nwaneri or Lewis-Skelly win the Golden Boy award would be amazing.
