VfB Stuttgart have sacked for Arsenal transfer chief Sven Mislintat after the Bundesliga side’s worst start to a league campaign in some years.
The German club announced on their official website that they have parted ways with the 50-year-old sporting director after weeks of rumours surrounding Mislintat’s future. Stuttgart have also recently sacked their manager Pellegrino Matarazzo in what appears to be a complete overhaul from the Bundesliga side.
Mislintat was appointed by Arsenal in November 2017 to guide Arsene Wenger in the transfer market, with the German making eight signings in total for the north London club. However, despite a stellar reputation from his work with Borussia Dortmund, things didn’t go to plan.
The German transfer guru made eight signings in total for the Gunners with each and every player now no longer at the club, with Mislintat bringing in the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bernd Leno and Lucas Torreira, with the former Arsenal official only managing to make profit on Matteo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavropanos, the latter of which is now at Stuttgart.
Insider’s View: Arsenal were right to dismiss Mislintat following Stuttgart sacking

It seems crazy to think that there was once a time when Mislintat was once viewed as the saviour of Arsenal. Fast-forward to now, and you will find it hard to locate any supporters who now agree with this view point, in large part due to the work Edu Gaspar has done alongside Mikel Arteta.
Indeed, the German, nicknamed ‘Diamond Eyes’, clearly wasn’t the right for Arsenal nor Stuttgart, with Mislintat being sacked by both clubs in what has been a rotten string of back luck for the 50-year-old, who will be thinking what his next opportunity will be.
