Arsenal fell to their first League defeat of the season as they were beaten at Newcastle, and Leandro Trossard failed to make an impact off the bench.
The Belgian came on for Eddie Nketiah as Arsenal struggled to create opportunities in front of goal, but was disappointing in his overall play and caused particular anger with his set-piece deliveries.
The Gunners pushed forward and earned a number of corners towards the end, but Trossard’s deliveries consistently failed to beat the first man, much to the frustration of the Arsenal fans.
Arsenal fans fume at Leandro Trossard
Arsenal fans took to Twitter to express their frustration at Trossard’s poor corner delivery during the crucial closing stages of the match.
“Trossard with the worst corners I’ve ever witnessed in such an important part of the game – utterly shocking,” one user tweeted.
“Don’t let Trossard take another corner ever again,” another added.
“Trossard, a professional Footballer, can’t even kick a football over the first man from a corner, three times in a row,” a fan pointed out.
“Every single Trossard corner has been cleared near post, you’re a professional footballer, how can you not beat the first man 4/5 times in a row??”
“Trossard hit 3 corners in a row that were absolutely shocking didn’t even beat the first man,” a fan added.
“Trossard’s 3 corners in a row that didn’t beat the first man also extremely poor.”
One fan even claimed that Trossard’s inability to deliver from corners summed up Arsenal’s attacking display.
“Officiating aside, toothless in attack again, those Trossard corners at the end… couldn’t beat the first man,” he claimed.
Trossard’s poor form

Trossard has struggled when starting at times this season, and was particularly poor in the midweek cup exit against West Ham.
When on the wing, he has failed to replicate the pace offered by Gabriel Martinelli, and he has had mixed results when playing as a striker.
His cameo today was so poor that questions may begin to arise about Trossard. At 28, he is one of the oldest attackers in the squad, and with Reiss Nelson struggling for minutes, there may be limited patience if Trossard does not improve.
His poor corners came during a spell of dominance for Arsenal, and contributed to their lack of bite in front of goal: the poor deliveries led to more frustration, and were easy for Newcastle to clear as they held out for the win.
