Andrea Berta’s focus is on Bukayo Saka’s future after tying down William Saliba to a new Arsenal contract.
The Italian has done an unbelievable job since replacing Edu Gaspar as the club’s sporting director.
Berta signed eight new players in the summer and has also extended the contracts of Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and now Saliba.
Up next is Saka, and there is some good news for Arsenal fans.
Fabrizio Romano reveals Bukayo Saka’s stance on new Arsenal contract
Bukayo Saka has been at Arsenal since he was a kid.
The Englishman came through the ranks at the club’s academy and made his senior Gunners debut under Unai Emery.
Mikel Arteta then took Saka’s game to the next level by deploying him in attack, and he is now one of the best players in the world.
Saka has entered the final two years of his contract, and every big club on the planet will be keeping an eye on his situation.
However, in what is good news for Arsenal fans, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Saka is keen to pen a new deal and continue his career at the Emirates after holding private talks with Arteta.
The journalist wrote on GiveMeSport: “Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is also fully involved in new contract conversations, talking directly to the players as he did with Saliba. He is doing the same with Bukayo Saka, who is also discussing a fresh deal at the Emirates Stadium.
“Arteta spoke to Saka. He is also keen on staying and being a big part of the Gunners’ project for the future. This is going to be the next priority after Saliba, having already reached agreements with Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri in the summer.
“Arsenal sources are optimistic about getting this deal done, and they see Saka as a crucial part of their plans. He is untouchable and soon will have a new contract.”

Andrea Berta has to extend another Arsenal player’s contract
The priority for Andrea Berta is Saka now, and rightly so.
The Englishman is Arsenal’s most important player, and tying him down to a new deal before he enters the final year of his contract is extremely important.
Once an agreement is reached with Saka, Berta will have to shift his attention to another Arsenal player whose contract also expires in 2027 – Gabriel Martinelli.
Yes, the fan base is divided on the Brazilian’s performances, but allowing Martinelli to enter the final year of his contract would be a very silly mistake.
Berta should tie Martinelli down to a new deal right after Saka puts pen to paper. That will not only secure his future but will also put Arsenal in a strong position during potential transfer negotiations.
