Arsenal are in a dream position right now.
The Gunners are five points clear at the top of the Premier League table and are also through to the final of the Champions League.
If you had offered that to an Arsenal fan at the start of the campaign, they would’ve bitten off your arm.
But what if Arsenal ‘bottle’ both competitions from this incredible stage? Mikel Arteta doesn’t have anything to worry about.
Discuss Mikel Arteta’s future if Arsenal do NOT win the Premier League
Mikel Arteta will be given a new contract irrespective of how the season ends
Arteta’s future has never really been in doubt, but it has often been questioned by people on the outside.
Every time Arsenal drop a few points, the usual suspects start a debate over whether he should be shown the door at the end of the season.
Even Thierry Henry claimed that the Arsenal board will need to speak to Arteta if he ends this season trophyless.
But what is actually happening behind the scenes at the club?

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the decision-makers at the club have already decided to offer Arteta a new contract, irrespective of how this season ends.
The journalist tweeted: “Understand Arsenal are planning to offer Mikel Arteta a new contract in the summer. Plan already decided in March, regardless of end-of-the-season results.
“Arteta wants to focus on titles now, but he is in love with the Arsenal project and looking forward to talks.
“Deal on soon.”
If Mikel Arteta wins the Premier League, where does he rank among the ALL-TIME great Arsenal managers?
Mikel Arteta is the perfect manager for Arsenal’s future
Whoever thinks Arteta should be sacked has no idea what they are talking about.
The Spaniard is one of the best managers in the world, and his numbers in recent seasons show that – even though Arsenal haven’t won any big trophies yet.
It is extremely unlikely that any other manager in world football whom Arsenal can get would be able to do any better in the same circumstances.
The Gunners’ board, led by owners Stan and Josh Kroenke, are absolutely right to want to offer a new deal to Arteta.
As long as he is at the helm, Arsenal are in good hands – on and off the pitch.
