Arsenal may well be considering launching a move to sign Benjamin Sesko.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are keen to secure the services of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed what stage the Gunners are at in their pursuit of the 20-year-old forward.

As quoted by Caught Offside, the reporter stated that, “Arsenal fans are asking me about reports linking them with an interest in Benjamin Sesko…as far as I understand it’s nothing advanced at the moment, just normal scouting activity.”

It would not be a surprise if Mikel Arteta were keen to add a new striker to his squad at the Emirates Stadium in the near future. The north London outfit have also been linked by The Mirror with Brentford goalscorer Ivan Toney.

In terms of his profile, Sesko has some similarities with Toney. At 6’4”, the Slovenian is able to compete physically, play a target man role, and be dominant in the air. He is also technically excellent and a lethal finisher when presented with an opportunity in front of goal.

Arsenal would be wise to chase Benjamin Sesko deal

The 24-cap Slovenia international would be an exciting addition to the Arsenal squad. He is certainly ready to compete with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah for minutes up front. His size and style of play would also lend a new dimension to how the Gunners can build up their attacking play.

Both Nketiah and Jesus have been criticised at times this season. The Brazilian’s injury record is also a concern that Arteta has to contend with. Sesko would add some much-needed cover and competition in this part of the pitch. He also has the potential to develop into a true superstar. Sesko has even been labelled the “new Erling Haaland.”

Clearly, Arsenal aren’t close to striking a deal for the RB Leipzig man. However, it does seem that there is at least some basis for the rumours of their interest in the player, which may well give plenty of fans cause for optimism that they could see Sesko strutting his stuff at the Emirates Stadium at some point.
