Arsenal are preparing for their Carabao Cup semi final second leg with Newcastle United knowing that they must overturn a two goal deficit.
Arsenal fans have been angered by the club’s lack of transfer activity after their search for reinforcements in attacking areas was unsuccessful.
Mikel Arteta was disappointed that no signings were made and it has made his task of trying to land the club a trophy even more difficult for the rest of the season.
A former transfer deadline day target has been in Arsenal colours on a social media post and was sporting the name of an Arsenal legend that was very much loved by former manager Arsene Wenger.

Karim Benzema spotted wearing Dennis Bergkamp Arsenal shirt
During a post on his official X account, former Arsenal target Karim Benzema has been spotted wearing a retro Arsenal shirt with a club legend on the back.
Dennis Bergkamp played 422 times for the Gunners in an illustrious career with the North London club and scored an incredible 120 goals.
The image of Benzema wearing the Bergkamp shirt is sure to excite Arsenal fans but maybe also fill them with regret that the French striker was never able to play for the club.
It seems that Benzema is a fan of Mikel Arteta’s side and in particular past legends such as Bergkamp, Arsenal tried on numerous occasions to sign the former Real Madrid man but could never get the deal over the line.
Arsene Wenger called Bergkamp ‘one of the greatest in history’ at recent event
At a recent tribute evening to the Dutchman, his former manager Wenger called Bergkamp ‘one of the greatest in history’ in a touching speech about the striker.
Wenger stated: “It was a great honour and luck to have managed this man for ten years.” The pair won numerous major honours together at Arsenal, including the Premier League in 2004 going the entire campaign unbeaten.
Seeing Benzema wearing a Bergkamp will only make current manager Arteta envious of the attacking talents on display, he now has to carefully manage his squad for the rest of the season.
However, players like Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli now have to step up and if they can produce a title or even Champions League, their names will perhaps be remembered as fondly as the great Dennis Bergkamp.
