Arsenal have had some top, top players over the years and while Thierry Henry is widely considered the greatest, Liverpool star Federico Chiesa admits it’s one of Henry’s teammates who is his pick.
Chiesa has had a bad time of things since moving to Liverpool from Italy but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a big knowledge of the English game.
Growing up, Chiesa will have witnessed some of the Premier League’s greatest ever players. Naturally, Arsenal have had some of them.
What changes would you make to our predicted Arsenal XI vs Nottingham Forest?
However, while many will opt for Thierry Henry as their pick, for Chiesa, it was Henry’s one-time strike partner who stood out.
Federico Chiesa names Dennis Bergkamp as his Premier League idol
With so many to choose from – even just in Arsenal colours – it’s hard to narrow things down to just one player.
When it comes to Dennis Bergkamp though, his greatness is unquestionable.

Bergkamp was one of the pioneers of Arsenal’s success in the late 90s and early 2000s under Arsene Wenger and is widely seen by many Gunners as one of the best ever.
And for Liverpool forward Chiesa, it’s a similar feeling.
“Wow, I have to say Dennis Bergkamp, do you know why,” Chiesa commented for the Premier League’s official YouTube channel.
“I was always getting him on Ultimate Team. On my Ultimate Team, I was watching YouTube videos, he’s an amazing player.”

Dennis Bergkamp’s Arsenal career in numbers
Dennis Bergkamp cannot be judged as a player solely on the basic numbers in the game but even if we do, he’s still a massive success.
Bergkamp was the complete forward really. He had terrific strength about him and at times, could do the nasty stuff required.
However, it was his creative genius and ability to help his teammates that was so impressive.
Arsenal fans…sum up Dennis Bergkamp in three words!
Bergkamp netted 120 goals in 413 Arsenal appearances. But in terms of assists, this is where Bergkamp is out on his own, with 94 – 20 more than Thierry Henry – in Arsenal colours.
The Dutchman also backed it up with trophies, winning three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and three community shields.
Part of the Invincibles as well, it’s little wonder Bergkamp is so highly-regarded by the likes of Chiesa and more.
