Mathieu Flamini reckons Arsenal are ready to roll up their sleeves and scrap their way to be considered serious Premier League title contenders.
The Gunners midfielder has added steel to the Gunners since his arrival in the summer on a free transfer from AC Milan.
And Flamini has won rave reviews for his contribution to the cause and for galvanising Arsene Wenger’s side.
Now he believes the Emirates outfit are prepared to fight for each other to try to end an eight-year trophy drought.
He said: “I think everyone knew Arsenal have a lot of qualities. But this year we are showing we have the fighting spirit, everyone is helping each other and it makes the difference because of course in a season you have some good periods and some difficult periods.
“What is important is to win game after game, work hard and stay focused and to keep going with our great spirit and then we’ll see.
“Maybe for us there will be a good surprise this season.”
Arsenal head for the Hawthorns on Sunday to face West Brom in the top flight after a Champions League win over Napoli which marked 17 years since Wenger took over as manager.
And Flamini, who knows all about the manager fro his previous spell in north London, has been quick to praise his compatriot.
He added of the Club and Flamini hailed the legacy that the boss has created.
He added: “Arsene Wenger is Arsenal. He’s been here for a long time and is doing an amazing job. He always qualifies for the Champions League and today he knows our group are following him and believing in what he is saying.
“I’m happy because the fans are with us again and it was a great communion tonight because everyone was happy.”
