Arsenal, Cesc Fabregas and Barca will bring the on-off, drawn-out transfer saga to a close when the midfielder finally makes the move to the Catalans.
Various tweeters said to be in the know suggest a club director has leaked the news that the switch is on and the deal will be done before Friday.
A senior source at Arsenal tells BBC Sport all the funds generated by the sale of Fabregas to Barca will be reinvested in new players. So does this mean we will splash the cash on Juan Mata? Does this mean that Gary Cahill will be on his way from Bolton to the Emirates?
Meanwhile, the Mail is reporting that the Spaniards have bid £25.5million, plus £5m in add-ons. Fabregas will then contribute another £4.5m to the deal by giving up around £900,000 per year in wages from his new deal.
I for one am relieved he is making the move. He seems a decent bloke and only wants to play with his boyhood club. Fair play. Be interesting to see what he says about the protratced affair. What will his legacy be at the club? Does he leave as a legend?
Another question remains: Do we fight tooth and nail to keep Samir Nasri from the grasp of trillionaires Manchester City in the light of Fabregas getting on his bike?
