Arsenal have been heavily linked with Eli Junior Kroupi this summer.
The 19-year-old Bournemouth forward broke the Premier League record for goals scored by a teenager in a debut season, netting 13 times.
His final goal of the campaign, a stunning finish against Manchester City, was the moment that officially handed Arsenal the title.
The Gunners are well aware of what he can do.
👀 PROVE US WRONG: Eli Junior Kroupi immediately improves Arsenal’s attack…
⚽ The 19-year-old has 13 Premier League goals this season!
Now, a former Arsenal striker with a unique personal connection to Kroupi has given his verdict on the player, and on the club’s chances of signing him.
Jeremie Aliadiere knows Eli Junior Kroupi better than most
Jeremie Aliadiere has known Eli Junior Kroupi for years, having crossed paths with the youngster’s father during his time at Lorient.
“I know his Dad quite well because his Dad used to play for Lorient as well,” the former Arsenal striker told football.london. “When I was at the club, he was coming around to watch us and be at training with us. He’s a fantastic player.”
Aliadiere was glowing in his praise for Kroupi’s quality and versatility. “He’s a fantastic player. There was talk about him maybe getting in the French squad.

“That just says it all at that age to be recognised by your French national team. He’s had a fantastic season with Bournemouth.
“The beauty with Kroupi is he’s not a typical number nine. He’s a forward in my eyes. He can play behind Viktor [Gyokeres] or behind Kai [Havertz] or even as a winger.
“He could play on the left side and come in on his right foot. I think he’s shown this season that he’s got the whole package.”
Jeremie Aliadiere thinks Arsenal signing Eli Junior Kroupi depends on one thing
For all his enthusiasm for the player, Aliadiere is not overly convinced Arsenal will sign Kroupi.
The Gunners currently have Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus as centre-forward options.
Jesus is expected to be sold, though the Brazilian’s high wages could prove to be a stumbling block.
“I personally don’t think we’ll buy Kroupi without selling,” Aliadiere said. “Would that mean Kai might go, or would that mean other players might be on the go? I’m not sure who would be the player making way.
“But yeah, he’ll be a great addition to the team. Young player as well. I’ll be very excited to see him at the club.”
Kroupi just feels like the right signing. But Aliadiere is right. Arsenal need to move someone on first.
Until that happens, the deal remains in the balance.
