Mikel Arteta has had a number of technically excellent players at his disposal at Arsenal.
The likes of Mesut Ozil, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka have all been a part of the Spaniard’s squad, and all three are or were capable of doing remarkable things with a football.
Granit Xhaka waxed lyrical about Ozil’s ability on the ball, while Odegaard’s technical brilliance is on show for everyone to see on a weekly basis at the Emirates.
However, Sead Kolasinac made a huge claim about one Arsenal star back in 2020, that’ll surprise most Gunners fans.

Sead Kolasinac claimed Shkodran Mustafi was the nutmeg king at Arsenal
Amidst a largely talented squad, Arsenal possessed a calamitous defender in Shkodran Mustafi between 2016 and 2021.
Mustafi initially formed a promising partnership with Laurent Koscielny at the Emirates, but this quickly faded as the German’s rash defensive actions and poor decision-making got exposed.
Eventually leaving after staying for longer than he should’ve, the centre-back has been named in the worst Arsenal eleven of the 21st century.
However, according to Kolasinac, Mustafi did come up trumps in one aspect of training.
Speaking in an interview with Soccer AM in 2020, the Bosnian surprisingly revealed that the World Cup winner was the ‘nutmeg king’ at Arsenal.
“Musti,” Kolasinac said, when asked who took the title in the Gunners squad.
“A lot. He gives, I think, to everyone a nuts. He once nutmegged me, but I got him back.
“Every training, if we play rondo, he’ll nutmeg everyone.”

Shkodran Mustafi’s Arsenal statistics
While Arsenal fans don’t remember Mustafi fondly, it wasn’t all bad for the centre-half in North London.
The German contributed to the Gunners’ runs to the Europa League semi-final in the 2017/18 season and the final of the competition a year later.

Aerially, he was outstanding and dominant, while the former Schalke man actually boasted an impressive range of passing.
Retiring from football last summer, Mustafi enjoyed a late-career resurgence at Levante and is now the assistant coach of the Germany under-17s.
