Arsenal fought their way back into the Premier League title race with a victory over Liverpool last week, but there is still a long way to go.
Liverpool’s victory over Burnley and Manchester City’s win over Everton meant that Arsenal still remain in third place, and have some catching up to do if they are to be in contention for the title.
Arsenal’s win over Liverpool was utterly dominant, but they face more tests including today’s trip to face West Ham, whom they have failed to beat in three attempts.
The title is arguably Manchester City’s to lose, but Arsenal are in the race for now. However, former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has now claimed that he does not see Mikel Arteta’s team finishing top of the pile by the end of the season.
Peter Crouch predicts where Arsenal will finish this season
Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, the retired attacker, who featured for England, Spurs, Liverpool and Stoke City among others, stated that he believed Liverpool would win the league, with Arsenal coming third.
“They’re up there now,” he replied when asked if he believed Arsenal had a chance of winning the title.
‘I think Liverpool [will win the title]. You can’t rule out Manchester City, but I think Liverpool will win it. City second, Arsenal third.”
Can Arsenal finish above Liverpool this season?

If Man City do go on to win the league, then it will be a battle between Liverpool and Arsenal for second place.

Arsenal have the statistically-best defence in the Premier League, but do not possess a natural goalscorer on the level of Mohamed Salah.
With Klopp set to depart at the end of the season, it remains to be seen whether his upcoming exit will have shocked or galvanised his squad to go all the way in the title race.
If Arsenal can maintain the performance levels they showed against Liverpool for the rest of the season, they can finish above them, but there is no room for any complacency.
Liverpool’s potent attack can bail them out of situations where Arsenal may struggle, but Arsenal’s solid defence could mean they find their consistency for the rest of the campaign.
