Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has received backing from Frank Lampard after demanding a rule change from the FA.
The Spaniard has been one of the best managers in the world in recent years, and he is on the cusp of winning major trophies.
Many in the game view Arteta as someone who possesses elite knowledge and understanding of what’s required, which is why people should start listening to him.
Lampard has now publicly claimed that he agrees with the Arsenal manager’s comments about increasing the size of the squad from the upcoming campaign.
👀 Who should be Arsenal’s manager at the start of next season: Mikel Arteta or Cesc Fabregas?
Frank Lampard supports Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s demand to change squad size rules
Frank Lampard has had a brilliant return to management at Coventry City, who are on top of the Championship table and are likely to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta is in a similar position in the top flight, and both managers have the same complaint: the matchday squad size is not enough.
The Premier League rules currently allow a 20-man matchday squad, out of which 18 are outfield players and the other two are goalkeepers.
Arteta demanded to have 20 outfield players available for every game for the benefit of those who are missing out every week despite doing all the right things in training.

Lampard has backed that claim now.
He said, as per the Coventry Telegraph: “I agree with what Arteta said recently, that we should have more spaces on the bench because people are employed by this club to train, to be able to be available to play.
“And it’s the worst thing you can do to take that right away from someone come the weekend.”
Two managers at the top of the Premier League and Championship tables have made the same demand, but Lampard still doesn’t think the FA will listen to either of them.
“They changed some rules in football, but I’m not sure they’ll listen to me,” he said.
If you could change or implement one rule in the Premier League, what would it be and why?
The FA need to listen to Mikel Arteta and Frank Lampard
Arteta and Lampard are absolutely spot on.
The likes of Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri have had to stay back at home at times this season because the squad rules didn’t give them any space to be included.
The former used to be the captain of a Premier League club until the end of last season, while Nwaneri is one of the best young players in the whole world.
Not being involved with the rest of their teammates after working hard all week must have a negative effect on their mental health, which is not right at all.
The FA need to intervene this summer and approve Arteta and Lampard’s demand.
