Along with reports that Besiktas are once again interested in Rob Holding, the Arsenal defender is now being considered by Rennes.
That’s according to a report in Foot Mercato which outlines Holding as an option as the club look to reinforce at centre-back this summer.

West Ham United’s Nayef Aguerd is seemingly Rennes’ first choice, a player that only left the Ligue 1 club last summer.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
And sticking with the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur’s Davinson Sanchez is also on the club’s list.
It’s been made clear by Arsenal that ‘outstanding’ Rob Holding can leave the club this summer.

And as mentioned, Besiktas are now back in talks with Arsenal over a deal for the 27-year-old.
Arsenal previously rejected a bid of £2m from the club – a bid deemed significantly below Arsenal’s valuation of the player.
Rennes were said to be interested in a loan move for Nayef Aguerd when it seemed that West Ham would sign Harry Maguire.
And now Maguire’s deal is off, it wouldn’t seem impossible that Rennes’ interest could lead to a loan approach.
Rennes are interested in Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding
It isn’t clear if Arsenal would consider a loan move for Holding this summer, you would imagine the club would prefer a sale.
It’s public knowledge that Arsenal want to offload several squad players before sanctioning further signings.

And a loan move for Holding may not achieve much to that degree and it would also leave Arsenal a defender short.
Another important factor would be Holding’s willingness to leave Arsenal for Rennes.
Holding’s preference hasn’t been reported yet this summer and the Englishman seemingly has remained very professional.
One would expect that Holding could fare very well abroad – a defender who’s domestic reputation has been hurt in the last year or so.
Holding struggled when replacing William Saliba at the tail end of last season.
And a move to a club like Rennes could be the platform to remind fans just how well Arsenal’s Holding can perform.
