Picking a player out as overrated is always going to have an element of subjectivity about it but Gabby Agbonlahor has picked out a surprise Arsenal player when tasked with picking one overrated player from each Champions League team.
The Gunners, as a team, have been superb all season and while some have had better seasons than others, it’s been a collective effort.
Still, Agbonlahor was asked the question for TalkSPORT and his answer will surprise many.

Gabby Agbonlahor names Martin Zubimendi as Arsenal’s most overrated player
It’s quite hard to pick someone who is overrated in your own opinion. You are effectively looking at a good player but then picking a reason why they might not be as good as some claim.
For Agbonlahor, that man for Arsenal is £60m summer signing Martin Zubimendi.
“Overrated player for me for Arsenal is Zubimendi. Decent player but he’s not as good as what people make him out to be,” Agbonlahor claimed.
Going through the rest of the Champions League last eight, Agbonlahor named some more bizarre picks in his selections.
He went with Spanish sensation Pedri as Barcelona’s most overrated, while he also tried to suggest PSG defender Marquinhos was also in the same category.
With Liverpool, he went with Alexis MacAllister, while in an even more bizarre take, he went with Joshua Kimmich as Bayern Munich’s most overrated player.
Martin Zubimendi is not overrated, Agbonlahor is wrong
The former Villa striker is welcome to his opinion and he was very much put on the spot here but to suggest Zubimendi is overrated is pushing it a bit.
Given he’s only in his first season in England and features regularly for Spain, it’s a hard argument to suggest he is indeed overrated.
The only facet you could count in Agbonlahor’s favour here is that Zubimendi is no longer a young man and at 27, he really should be into his prime years now and for the next few seasons.
Still, he has been a major component in Arsenal’s midfield this season and it’s little wonder Mikel Arteta picks him in his best three in the middle.
Of course, quite who would be Arsenal’s most overrated player is open to debate. But for us, it’s certainly not Martin Zubimendi.
