Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus has named Gabriel Magalhaes ahead of William Saliba as the toughest player to play against in training.

The Brazilian striker has been around at the top level for a long time, and he knows a good defender when he sees one. It’s clear now that he rates his Arsenal teammate Gabriel very, very highly.

Gabriel Jesus says Gabriel Magalhaes is the toughest player to play against at Arsenal

Arsenal signed Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille in the summer of 2020.

The Brazilian has progressed tremendously under Mikel Arteta over the last few years, and he is one of the best defenders in the Premier League right now.

Gabriel Jesus has played with a number of world-class centre-halves at domestic and international level over the last few years.

From Vincent Kompany and Ruben Dias at Manchester City to Thiago Silva and Marquinhos in the Brazilian national team, he has come up against some great defenders in training.

He also faces our own William Saliba at the Arsenal training ground every day, and we all know how good the Frenchman is.

However, when he was asked to name the toughest teammate he has faced in training, Jesus quickly replied: “Magalhaes!”

Gabriel Magalhaes is very underrated

In our opinion, Gabriel Magalhaes is one of the best centre-backs in Europe right now.

The Brazilian has everything in his game. He’s good on the ball, very aggressive, fantastic in the air and is pretty quick too for a central defender. However, for one reason or another, he just doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

William Saliba’s brilliance right next to him at the Emirates is perhaps one of the reasons why people forget how good Gabriel is, but every Arsenal fan knows he’s a tremendous defender.

The 25-year-old is one of Arsenal’s most important players now, and we’re not surprised Jesus finds it difficult to face him in training every day.

Real Madrid wonderkid Endrick got his first taste of training with Gabriel yesterday, and we’ll let you watch what happened to him.
