Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes has had his say on one of Gary Neville’s recent claims about the Gunners.

The Brazil international has had a terrific season so far. He hasn’t just been unbelievable at the back for Mikel Arteta’s side but he has scored a few very important goals as well.

Gabriel is one of many leaders at Arsenal. Arteta has built a truly magnificent team at the Emirates, one that has challenged for the Premier League title for over two years now.

However, Arsenal are yet to get their hands on the trophy.

Gabriel Magalhaes responds to what Gary Neville said about Arsenal

Arsenal deserve a lot of praise for how well they have done since the start of the 2022/23 season.

It’s never easy to go toe-to-toe with a club like Manchester City, especially with a young squad, but Arteta managed that in each of the last two campaigns.

Unfortunately, on both occasions, Arsenal fell short. That was heartbreaking, but Neville feels this simply cannot continue if the players want to be remembered.

The pundit recently claimed that the likes of William Saliba and Gabriel will be ‘dismissed as nearly men’ in history if they fail to win a big trophy soon.

That is a bit harsh as this Arsenal side truly is fantastic, but Neville does have a point. History only remembers winners, which is probably why Gabriel agrees with the former Manchester United man.

When asked about Neville’s controversial claim, Gabriel replied on Sky Sports: “Yeah, for sure. In 10 years, for people to remember us, we need to win trophies.

“But, we don’t need to go too fast as well because we just started to play together. I think we’ve played two years together, we’ve improved a lot and we need to continue it.

“For sure, we want to win trophies at Arsenal.”

Three things Arsenal have to do to win the Premier League this season

Arsenal finished five points behind Manchester City in the 2022/23 season and fell just two short last term. They took it to the final day of the campaign but just couldn’t get over the line.

Arteta will be hoping that third time is the charm, and Bukayo Saka has also predicted that 2024/25 is Arsenal’s season to win the Premier League.

We think they have a great chance this term, but if they can do three things, they will be the favourites to win the title:
