Gabriel Magalhaes says there’s a teenager at Arsenal who is even stronger than Viktor Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Magalhaes are two of the most physically dominant players at Arsenal.

Both players love a battle, play aggressively and rarely get bullied by anybody on the pitch – be it in open play or inside the box during set-pieces.

That physical edge has become one of the biggest reasons why Arsenal are now such a difficult team to face.

However, according to Gabriel, there may actually be one player at the club who is even stronger than Gyokeres, and surprisingly, he is still only a teenager – Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Gabriel Magalhaes suggests Myles Lewis-Skelly is stronger than Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal’s squad is filled with physically dominant players right now.

Whether it is Gabriel Magalhaes at the back, Declan Rice in midfield or Viktor Gyokeres leading the line, Arteta has built a team capable of matching anybody physically.

That toughness has become one of the biggest reasons why Arsenal are so difficult to play against this season.

Gyokeres, in particular, has bullied defenders ever since arriving at the Emirates. The Swedish striker combines aggression, power and relentless intensity in a way very few forwards can.

That is why Gabriel’s recent comments about Lewis-Skelly came as such a surprise.

The Brazilian defender took part in an interview on MVPS where he was asked to describe several teammates using just one word.

When Gyokeres’ name was mentioned, Gabriel immediately replied: “Strong.” However, when Lewis-Skelly’s name came up, his answer was: “Stronger.”

That appeared to suggest Gabriel believes the teenager is even stronger physically than Gyokeres.

Anybody who has watched Lewis-Skelly closely lately will understand exactly why he thinks that.

Myles Lewis-Skelly could become Arsenal’s long-term midfielder

One of the most interesting developments recently has been Lewis-Skelly getting opportunities in midfield, and honestly, he has looked extremely comfortable there.

The Arsenal academy graduate’s combination of strength, balance and intelligence allows him to glide past players and dominate physical battles.

That gives Arsenal something completely different in midfield compared to when Martin Zubimendi starts there.

Lewis-Skelly also reads the game incredibly well for somebody so young, which helps him impact matches both defensively and offensively.

If he continues developing like this, there is a real chance his long-term future may no longer be at left-back – instead, Mikel Arteta could end up building his midfield around him for years to come.
