Gabriel Magalhaes has urged his Arsenal teammates to embrace the challenge of facing Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Gunners travel to the Etihad on Sunday afternoon in a match which could well decide which team wins the Premier League title.

City desperately need to beat Mikel Arteta’s team to stand any chance of closing down the six-point gap; meanwhile, Arsenal could do with a positive result.

Ahead of the match, Gabriel has been speaking about how his team can beat City and how they must enjoy these sorts of games.

Gabriel Magalhaes says Arsenal must enjoy facing Man City

Gabriel Magalhaes insists that Arsenal must enjoy the challenge of facing Man City in the huge Premier League showdown on Sunday.

Typically, Arsenal have not dealt well with pressure, but if there was one game in which they must rise to the occasion, it is this one against City.

Speaking about the Gunners’ mindset heading into the game, Gabriel told Sky Sports: “As I say, we need to enjoy this kind of game.

“I think we know which game we want to play on Sunday. We know how tough it’s going to be, but I think we need to relax and we are ready to go.”

The North London club allowed the pressure of the Carabao Cup and facing City to get to them, but this time, they must show they have learned from the pain of losing at Wembley.

Gabriel Magalhaes on facing Erling Haaland

Gabriel has also spoken about the prospect of facing Erling Haaland and the Brazilian is excited to come up against such a top player.

“Yes. Like that’s why I’m here. I play against top players, and of course, I want to be aggressive, to be in this place,” added Gabriel.

“As I say, I like to be in this place, and yeah, we just need to enjoy every minute, and it’s going to be a big Sunday.

When asked about facing Haaland, Gabriel said: “Yeah, of course. Like I say, I want to play against big players, and that’s why I’m here. So, of course, Sunday is going to be a big battle.
