Arsenal have a number of players who are capable of scoring a ton of goals.

The Gunners, unlike Manchester City and Liverpool, don’t rely on one player to net 30 times every season. The North Londoners share the goals across their attack, and that has benefitted them massively.

Bukayo Saka was Arsenal’s top scorer in the 2023/24 season, and the Englishman is undoubtedly the favourite to repeat that feat this term.

However, Gabriel Martinelli thinks another one of his teammates will outscore Saka and everyone else at Arsenal this season.

Gabriel Martinelli predicts Gabriel Jesus will be Arsenal’s top scorer in 2024/25

Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.

The Brazil international had an unbelievable start to life as a Gunner. He was one of the best players in the Premier League in his first few months at the Emirates, but things haven’t been the same since.

Jesus suffered a knee injury during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Injuries have constantly troubled him since, and he has had no continuity to help him return to his best.

That’s why Kai Havertz has leapfrogged him in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order, and as things stand, it’s unlikely Jesus will get back into the starting lineup anytime soon.

However, Martinelli is still adamant that Jesus will be Arsenal’s top goalscorer this season.

That is a surprise as we’re sure most Arsenal supporters and football fans in general wouldn’t even consider the Brazilian because goalscoring is not his biggest strength.

Speaking to the Premier League’s social channels, Martinelli said: “The top goal scorer will be Gabi Jesus.

“He’s an amazing player, he always scores some nice goals, and yeah, that’s my opinion.”

Everybody knows how good a player Jesus really is.

Yes, the Arsenal number nine definitely has his flaws and his efficiency in front of goal is probably his biggest weakness. But, he’s still good enough to start for this Arsenal team.

However, for that to happen, Jesus needs to stay away from injuries for a long period.

If he can get a consistent run of games while being fully fit, he can produce the same kind of form that he did at the start of his Arsenal career.

Unfortunately for Jesus, he is currently injured and it remains to be seen if he will make it back in time for the North London Derby after the international break.
