Gary Neville outlined some of Manchester City’s weaknesses after watching Arsenal’s Premier League title rivals in action against Newcastle United.

Matchday 27 presented another statement in the race for the Premier League title, as Arsenal thrashed Tottenham 4-1 to return to winning ways.

Elsewhere, Man City beat Newcastle 2-1 at the Etihad, putting pressure on the Gunners ahead of the North London Derby.

Thankfully, the narrative wasn’t that Arsenal were ‘bottling it’ as Mikel Arteta’s side won, so instead, the discussion changed to how exciting the title race will be.

Neville has backed Arsenal in the title race, and while doing so on The Gary Neville Podcast, he shared what he truly thinks about Man City right now.

How much did Arsenal’s win vs Tottenham make you believe that we can win the Premier League?

Gary Neville says Manchester City will drop points in the Premier League title race

City might have continued their form by beating Newcastle, but as usual, Pep Guardiola’s side didn’t look entirely convincing.

Neville elaborated on such when speaking on his podcast after the weekend’s action.

“City will drop points. They’re not quite right themselves,” he stated.

“You asked me about the game last night against Newcastle. They weren’t hanging on in there at the end, but it was a little bit close for comfort for them.”

Neville then spoke about how City weren’t ‘quite’ their usual selves, but quickly backtracked, removing the ‘quite’ from his statement.

“They’re not quite as dominant as they were, and they’re not as dominant as they were.

“Forget not quite, they’re not as dominant as they were. They’re not as controlling as they were. They’re not as exceptional as they were, but they’re still very, very dangerous.”

The feedback throws another spin in the title race, as while City’s experience shines through to blind Arsenal’s belief, it must be remembered that this isn’t the City of the past years.

It’s why Arsenal can weather the storm of battling a Guardiola team in the run-in, as this isn’t City operating at their usual standard.
