Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has shared his prediction for this weekend’s Premier League clash between Chelsea and Arsenal.

Arsenal will travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Saturday.

The Gunners will be desperate to maintain their unbeaten start to the league season. With eight matches played at this point, the north London club have only dropped points in the case of two draws.

However, they will face another tough test against the Blues. Whilst Chelsea haven’t begun the new season in fantastic form, there are still plenty of talented players in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad with the capacity to hurt Arsenal.

Gary Neville certainly believes that the Gunners are in for a major challenge. Speaking on The Overlap, the pundit shared his forecast for the result of the match. He said, “Chelsea vs Arsenal, I’m doing that game, I’m going to go with 1-1. 1-1 after the international break.”

Arsenal have opportunity to underline their credentials

Neville perhaps feels that the lingering effects of the international break will mean both sides are a little rusty coming into this match.

Mikel Arteta, though, will be coming into this match expecting a win. He will be keen for his side to build on the victory they earned against Manchester City last time out, and a triumph at Stamford Bridge would underline that success and truly mark Arsenal as a genuine force to be reckoned with.

The key battles in this match will be on the flanks, where both sides excel in an attacking sense. The Gunners’ full-backs will need to be at their best to deal with the threat that Chelsea pose in this area of the pitch. Given this concern, Takehiro Tomiyasu, rather than Oleksandr Zinchenko, could be the best option to start at left-back for the visitors.

Despite Neville’s reservations, and the challenge they face against Chelsea, Arsenal ought to be heading into this match confident of their ability to return to the Emirates Stadium with all three points in tow.
