Gary Neville believes that Arsenal are the only side that can truly challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table, five points clear of reigning champions Manchester City with 17 matches played.
However, Liverpool, who are currently only one point behind the Gunners, and are set to host the north London club at Anfield this coming weekend, will feel that they are very much in this title race as well.
Of course, Jurgen Klopp knows what it takes to win a Premier League title. Many players who were part of his previous title winning squad are still on the books at Liverpool, too.
Whoever wins between Arsenal and Liverpool this weekend will decide who takes control of the title race at this stage and spends Christmas at the top of the table.
Aston Villa, who have racked up 38 points, and recently beat both Arsenal and Manchester City, will also feel that they have an outside chance of being crowned champions at the end of the campaign.
It would also be foolish to rule out Manchester City, despite their sticky recent form. Pep Guardiola has an incredible squad stuffed with world-class talents.

Gary Neville puts Arsenal ahead of Liverpool
It could potentially be a four-horse race for the title this season, though that is not what Gary Neville expects.
The former Manchester United defender believes it will come down to Arsenal or Manchester City. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said, “I do think Arsenal are the only challengers for City, I never bought into the Liverpool thing before today, it could happen just because of purely Klopp, if they strengthen that midfield in January, but I feel Arsenal are a better team.”
Few would have tipped Liverpool for a serious title challenge this season, following their fifth-place finish last season. What’s more, they underwent a complete midfield rebuild in the summer which could have taken some time to settle. They do have the advantage of being in the Europa League though, which ought to prove less taxing than Arsenal’s Champions League exertions.
That being said, Arsenal will believe that they have what it takes to get a positive result at Anfield. Liverpool were also poor up against Manchester United last time out, who were able to hold them to a draw.
Neville has previously backed Arsenal to go all the way this season, and the signs so far are that Mikel Arteta’s side will be able to take it to the wire at the very least. As long as they can avoid injuries to some key players, then Arsenal will feel that they can make up for the pain of missing out last season this time around.
