Currently, Timber is pushing to be back fit for Arsenal after being sidelined for almost two months with an injury.

The 24-year-old’s absence has been a blow for the Gunners, especially given how good he has been this season.

Now, Neville has added him to his Premier League Team of the Season; however, the defender did not make Jamie Carragher’s line-up.

Gary Neville names Jurrien Timber the best right-back

Gary Neville has picked Jurrien Timber as the best right-back in the Premier League this season.

The Sky Sports pundit claims that Timber is now comfortably the top full-back in the league following another stellar season at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking on Sky Sports: “I was unequivocal at right-back, Timber is the best right-back in this league by an absolute mile, unless my eyes deceive me, which I don’t think they do.”

The former Manchester United defender picked him as one of five Arsenal players who made it into his Team of the Season.

Joining Timber in Neville’s Team of the Season were Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and David Raya.

However, one person who disagreed with Neville’s right-back selection was Jamie Carragher, who instead picked Matheus Nunes.

Given that Timber has missed 12 matches this season through injury, Carragher claimed: “Timber has had a few injuries, so he’s not in mine.”

Really, Arsenal’s entire defence should be making every Premier League Team of the Season given their defensive record.

Raya won his third consecutive Premier League Golden Glove award on Monday after keeping 19 clean sheets in total.
