Gervinho: Arsenal would be a dream move

Arsenal face a battle with Manchester City for the £8million capture of Lille forward Gervinho, tabloid reports suggest this morning.
The papers report that the 24-year old will decide his future after returning from international duty tomorrow and is known to want a switch to the Gunners, which is said to be a “dream move” for the attacker.
But there are claims that City’s late bid has left Arsene Wenger worrying over whether he can snare the player. Ivory Coast striker Gervinho has become one of Europe’s hottest prospects and recently helped Lille to their first French League title for more than 50 years. He is on the market after turning down the chance to renew a contract that has 12 months left.
Lille will listen to offers of around £8million, and AW thought he had won the chase because he could offer the player Champions’ League football. Sources close to Gervinho apparently say he is an admirer of Arsenal’s free-flowing football and a switch to the Emirates would be a dream move.
Gervinho, preparing for Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Benin in Accra, said: “I love the Premier League, but I have interest from Spain and Germany as well. There is a decision to be made, and I will make it in the next few days.”
