Thomas Partey scores brace for Ghana as media rave about Arsenal star

In a key game for Ghana, Partey stepped up to help the side register a huge win for their World Cup qualification hopes.

The midfielder scored the opening goal just 11 minutes into the game, scoring from a set-piece to give his side the lead.

In the second half, the Arsenal ace did so again, doubling the scoreline and handing Ghana a huge advantage.

A Mohammed Kudus finish just moments later sealed off what ended up being a conclusive 3-0 victory to build up a gap at the top.

After the match, Ghana’s media were full of praise for Partey’s display, with My Joy Online giving him an eight out of ten, stating: “One of the best performers on the pitch for Ghana. He was neat and tidy in possession and also came up with the goods, scoring twice from two headers.”

Kickgh continued that trend, giving Partey an 8.5 out of ten and saying: “One of Ghana’s standout players. His presence in midfield was crucial, and he capped off his performance with two well-taken headers.”

Sports World Ghana also gave him an 8.5, claiming: “A dominant performance in midfield. Scored twice with well-placed headers and dictated the tempo of Ghana’s play.”

It ended up being a decent international break for the midfielder, who returns with an uncertain future ahead of him at Arsenal.

It wasn’t just the media that had lots to say about Partey, with supporters taking to social media to discuss the impact of the midfielder.

“Thomas Partey at the double,” another added.

One fan said: “Thomas Partey with two headed goals for Ghana. Arteta what have you done.”

While one also said: “Arteta should have started Partey as a striker instead of Merino.”

Some gave a big review, stating: “Thomas Partey single pivot, solid 9/10.”
