Harry Maguire has admitted that he always felt that Arsenal’s Eberechi Eze was a bigger attacking threat than Michael Olise.

Olise has become one of the best attackers in world football, and Eze is now a Premier League champion with Arsenal following their moves away from Crystal Palace.

The attacking duo were a real menace in the Premier League together, and it is no surprise to see them doing so well at major clubs.

Maguire has now been discussing the former Palace duo and suggests that Eze might have actually been even better than Olise in South London.

Harry Maguire suggests Eberechi Eze might have been better than Michael Olise

Harry Maguire claims that he felt Eberechi Eze was always harder to defend than Michael Olise when they were both at Crystal Palace.

But whilst the England star reckons Eze might have been better, many at Palace, along with Kane, have told him that the duo were always destined for the very top.

Speaking to The Rest is Football on Netflix, Maguire said: “I always thought at Palace he had great abilities, no doubt, he was a big threat when he played against him, but he had Eze as well on the other side. I always felt like the biggest threat came from that side.

“But I did speak to people who played with him at Palace, and they told me totally different. They told me that both of them were going to be top, top-level players. Obviously, I speak to H now at Bayern Munich, and he can’t speak highly enough of him.”

Michael Olise is outperforming Eberechi Eze

Olise had an outstanding season at Bayern Munich last year, producing 22 goals and 31 assists in 52 appearances.

For Eze, despite helping the Gunners to win their first Premier League title in 22 years, he probably had a slightly underwhelming season on a personal level.

The 27-year-old did miss a spot kick in the Champions League final for the Gunners, and that will be a moment which could haunt him this summer.

Meanwhile, the French winger has probably proven he is now the better of the two players; he looks set to become one of the best performers of this generation.
