Arsenal delivered a top-class performance to beat Sheffield United 5-0 at the Emirates today, and there were some unlikely goalscorers.
Mikel Arteta made five changes to his starting XI following the tough victory over Sevilla in midweek, and striker Eddie Nketiah, filling in for the injured Gabriel Jesus, scored an impressive hattrick.
Fabio Vieira also scored his first goal of the season with a penalty, then Takehiro Tomiyasu, who had started the game on the bench, fired home a fifth.
Tomiyasu was making his 50th appearance for the club, and after a strong run of form, a goal was the icing on the cake for him today.
Arsenal fans delighted with Tomiyasu

Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight that such a popular player got to enjoy such a nice moment. This was Tomiyasu’s first goal for the club, and his teammates were clearly overjoyed at the 24-year-old’s strike.
“Tomiyasu with his first goal for the Arsenal. No less than his recent form deserves. So chuffed for him. Hero,” one fan posted.
“So so happy for Tomiyasu – the players reaction says all you need to know on how respected he is at the club,” another fan tweeted, highlighting the reaction of Tomiyasu’s teammates.
Arsenal fans have been happy with Tomiyasu’s performances in recent weeks, with his display against Sevilla a particular highlight, and they now believe that scoring his first goal for the club was a fair reward for his efforts.
“Tomiyasu truly deserves that, he’s been our most underrated player this season. And has hardly put a foot wrong at LB all season, fair play to him,” one fan claimed.
One fan even pointed out that Tomiyasu deserved his moment more than anyone else in the squad, and highlighted his quality in multiple positions.
“Tomiyasu! Show me one player that deserves a goal more than Tomiyasu after that ‘performance for the ages’ against Sevilla in midweek. Tomi is everything you want in a player. Versatile, efficient, effective & reliable. A Manager’s dream!”
Many had called for Tomiyasu to start today after his performance in midweek, but Oleksandr Zinchenko returned to the lineup and played superbly. However, the Japan International will be hoping to start in next week’s tough trip to Newcastle, and keep his place at left-back going forward.
