Speaking on Stadium Astro, Thomas Partey has heaped praise on Arsenal’s latest signing Martin Odegaard.
The Norwegian joined us on loan from Real Madrid last month and Arsenal fans are beyond excited to have him here. Odegaard is yet to start a game for us, but his 25-minute cameo against Aston Villa showed what he is all about.
Partey knows Odegaard better than most Arsenal players. He has played against the Real Madrid man during the duo’s time in La Liga, and the Ghanaian has admitted that it is extremely difficult to snatch the ball off him.

He said: “I remember when we played against him.
“He is so intelligent, he is always quick on the ball, he doesn’t give you the chance to take the ball from him. So, it’s amazing to have him here. I hope he has a great season, and he is able to help us to achieve what we want to achieve.”
Odegaard looked really good on Saturday
In the 25 minutes he played on Saturday, Odegaard had 35 touches of the ball and misplaced just one pass, maintaining a stunning 96% passing accuracy. (SofaScore)

He had a golden chance to bury the ball into the back of the net as well, but his fierce strike went over the bar. Early signs are really good and Arsenal fans will be hoping that the 22-year-old gets a game from the start soon.
Arsenal play Leeds United next and Odegaard would be perfect for that game. The Whites will look to attack all game and that will open up a ton of space in the attacking third – something that the Real Madrid man can exploit.
Emile Smith Rowe has been a star but it’s time Arteta gives him a break. He looked exhausted against Villa, and with Odegaard now available and looking good, there is no reason to overwork the young Englishman.
