One Arsenal star has now explained why he feels that Thierry Henry stands out amongst the club’s other legends.
Eddie Nketiah has now stated, that in his opinion, Thierry Henry is best player to have ever featured for Arsenal.
Henry certainly left a huge legacy at the north London club. Along with other Arsenal icons, such as Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams, and Arsene Wenger, the Frenchman has been immortalised in statue form outside the Emirates Stadium.
The former striker was on the books with the Gunners between 1999 and 2007. In that period, the 46-year-old won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups. He was a key figure in the famous Invincibles squad, and helped Arsenal to their first ever Champions League final in 2006.
Henry returned to the Emirates Stadium for a brief loan spell in January 2012. Whilst he only played a handful of matches, he was able to make an impact and show his enduring quality. On his second debut, Henry scored for Arsenal against Leeds United in the FA Cup, whilst current manager Mikel Arteta was also on the pitch to share in that magical moment.

Henry is Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer, having racked up 228 goals in 377 appearances for the capital city club.
He enjoyed success outside of his time with Arsenal as well. He won the EUROs and a World Cup on his way to amassing 123 caps for France. He scored 51 goals for is country, too.
He earned a Ligue 1 title, as he began his career at Monaco. After leaving Arsenal to join Barcelona, he went on to pick up a Champions League winner’s medal, as well as two La Liga crowns, and numerous other honours.
The current France under-21s manager is established as one of the greats of the modern game.
A number of incredible players have played for Arsenal in the past. Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires, Mesut Ozil, Freddie Ljungberg, and Liam Brady are just a few examples.
However, as far as Nketiah is concerned, Henry is the obvious pick as the best Arsenal player of all time. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the Hale End academy graduate did not hesitate to hand that title to Henry, and explained this decision, saying, “how he plays, how he can use the ball, how he finishes. His aura.”
As a striker himself, Nketiah naturally idolises Henry. He has a long way to go though if he ever hopes to reach a similar level.
