Arsenal are among the big Premier League clubs hoping to secure the signing of teenage winger Jeremy Monga and if they do, they’ll hold a unique record.

Monga is a wanted man after impressing at Leicester City and following their relegation to League One, is going to move on this summer.

Arsenal are believed to have come to terms with Monga with suggestions he has chosen the Gunners over clubs like Man City and Man United.

Of course, if Monga is ready for the first-team at Arsenal remains open to debate.

But one thing is for sure if they do sign Monga, and that’s Arsenal’s rich history of giving young players a chance will live on.

Arsenal will have the three youngest ever Premier League players with Jeremy Monga signing

The Gunners have a long history of developing young players from their Hale End academy.

In recent years, a number of youngsters have emerged and either made the first-team as regulars or moved on to pastures new for good money.

As we know, Monga made his top-flight debut as a 15-year-old with Leicester City. Now, if he signs for Arsenal, they will have all three of the youngest to ever appear.

Ethan Nwaneri is the youngest player ever at 15 years and 181 days, while Max Dowman soon followed by appearing this year at 15 years and 235 days.

Monga is in third, with his appearance at 15 and 271 days bringing him up just short of Dowman and Nwaneri.

Still, this is an interesting stat for the Gunners to have a hold of.

In terms of how this will help them as a club, it shows young players that there very much is a big chance of getting playing time if they sign for the Gunners.

And with Mikel Arteta still in charge and likely to be for the considerable future, Arsenal’s run of developing young players will continue.
