Newcastle United are worried that Bruno Guimaraes is now facing a crossroads in his career, and Arsenal could capitalise on this.

The Brazilian midfielder will have two years remaining on his contract in the summer, and the Tyneside club are keen for him to sign a new deal.

However, with several major clubs keen on signing him, Guimaraes will need to decide whether or not to put off talks in favour of a move away.

The Gunners are one of the clubs that have long been interested in the player, and this summer could finally be the moment they land him.

Newcastle could be forced to sell Arsenal target, Bruno Guimaraes

Newcastle United have a growing sense that Bruno Guimaraes is facing a big decision this summer over his future at the club, according to Flashscore.

The Magpies will be hopeful that the 28-year-old will be open to renewing his deal at St James’ Park; however, he will not be short of alternative options.

Interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City could persuade him to turn his back on Newcastle and look to make the next step in his career.

Guimaraes has proved himself to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League over the past few seasons, and it is no wonder to see why there is such big interest.

Arsenal’s desire to sign him dates back to his time at Lyon, where Newcastle managed to land him in a real coup for a deal worth around £40 million.

Despite his age and contract situation, Guimaraes would likely cost well in excess of what Newcastle paid for him, with the Tyneside club likely to play hardball over their captain.

The Gunners are on the hunt for a new midfielder this summer, with Andrea Berta also targeting Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson.

Mikel Arteta has been forced to run both Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi into the ground this season, and it’s clear another option is required.

Given the stature of Guimaraes in the Premier League, that would be a serious play if the North London club were able to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Guimaraes is not the only Newcastle player Arsenal have been eyeing, with Tino Livramento also a target at right back and Anthony Gordon a player Arteta really likes.

The Tyneside club will not want to be ripped apart; therefore, Arsenal will need to decide which player to prioritise.
