How Gabriel Magalhaes performed for Brazil during their 3-0 win against Haiti

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes played the full 90 minutes for Brazil as they swept aside Haiti to go top of their World Cup group.

Goals from Matheus Cunha (2) and Vinicius Junior were enough for the Selecao to see off the Caribbean minnows and more or less seal a top two place.

Nevertheless, while the attacking performance of Brazil was the highlight of the night, for Arsenal fans, it was all eyes on defender, Gabriel Magalhaes.

And while the forwards will get the attention, Gabriel was as imperious as always at the back.

Gabriel impresses as he shuts out Haiti with ease for Brazil

There’s no point sprucing it up any more than it needs to be. This was an easy enough night at the office for Gabriel and his defensive partner, Marquinhos.

Haiti huffed and puffed but rarely troubled the Brazilians until Wilson Isidor’s introduction.

However, what Gabriel did have to do, he did well.

He made over 95% of his passes from a near team high 81, while he also won a team high four aerial duels as he dominated once again in that metric.

Whoscored gave Gabriel a rating of 7.24 which was par for the course for the Brazilians barring the two goalscorers.

Interestingly, Gabriel Martinelli also got minutes as he came off the bench and impressed.

Martinelli smashed the crossbar with a fine effort before new Man United signing Ederson missed a golden chance at the back post to deny him an assist as well.

Overall, it was a solid night for the Arsenal contingent who continue to impress at this World Cup.
