Injuries at Arsenal have meant that the Italian defender has lost his starting spot at left-back to Piero Hincapie, who has really impressed this season.

There have now been suggestions that Calafiori could end up leaving the Gunners in the summer and make a return to Italy.
However, the Gunners would demand a lot of money for the defender, and Inter are very unlikely to spend such an amount on a new centre-back.

Inter Milan are very unlikely to push to sign Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori this summer, according to Marco Barzaghi.
Calafiori was involved in Italy’s recent World Cup qualifying heartbreak as the Azzurri failed to qualify for the tournament for the third time in a row.
A couple of months ago, it seemed unthinkable that the Gunners would sell the 23-year-old; however, that stance could change.
But despite talk of Inter making a move for the Arsenal star, it has been revealed that a move is now unlikely to happen.
Barzaghi told his YouTube channel: “Honestly, even if Inter managed to sell Alessandro Bastoni well, do you really think they’d go and buy Riccardo Calafiori for €50 million?

Inter could end up losing Alessandro Bastoni in the summer, but even at £44 million, the Italian club would be unlikely to do the deal.
Meanwhile, question marks have been raised over Calafiori’s suitability to play as a centre-back as he has failed to impress there with the national team.
“Aside from the fact that he’s not a right-sided centre-back, we’ve seen that with the national team, if you’re sticking with a 3-5-2, he’s the last kind of player you’d go for,” added the Italian journalist.
Arsenal currently have three left-backs, and it seems likely that one of Calafiori or Myles Lewis-Skelly could leave during the next transfer window.
