Arsenal have finished on top of the Champions League table after winning all eight of their league phase games.
The Gunners had qualified for the round of 16 already following their victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro last week. They only needed a point to confirm a top-place finish, and they have achieved that with a 3-2 win over Kairat Almaty.
Goals from Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli sealed a perfect league phase campaign for Mikel Arteta’s side, and they can now sit back and watch teams that finished between ninth and 24th battle it out in the knockout games in February.
It’s not just the on-pitch satisfaction for Arsenal; there is a huge financial boost as well, thanks to their performances so far.

Arsenal’s prize money after finishing on top of the Champions League table
Arsenal have been the best team in the Champions League so far this season.
The Gunners have finished the league phase by winning each of their eight games, scoring 23 goals and conceding just four in the process.
Arteta’s men have therefore been described as the favourites to win the Champions League, and they have earned a sizeable sum in prize money already.
After the win over Inter Milan, the North Londoners’ earnings rose to £60.93 million. Now, with the victory against Kairat, that sum has further increased.

The 3-2 triumph on Wednesday night and finishing first earned Arsenal an additional £10.4 million. They will also collect an extra £1.73 million for ending up in the top eight.
A total of £9.6 million will also fall into the Gunners’ bank account for making it into the round of 16 of the Champions League.
In total, Arsenal have earned a whopping £82.66 million from the league phase this season.
It is important to note that the above figure is calculated based on Arsenal’s value pillar, results and league finish. It does not include gate receipts and income from television rights.
