Arsenal have made it into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup for the second season running.
The Gunners faced Crystal Palace in the quarter-final, just like they did last year, and played really well for large parts of the game.
Mikel Arteta’s side should’ve put the clash to bed in the first half, but their missed chances took the game to penalties after Marc Guehi cancelled out Maxence Lacroix’s own goal in stoppage time.
Arsenal and Palace had to battle it out in a penalty shootout then, and the North Londoners came out on top in the end.

The prize money Arsenal will receive for reaching the Carabao Cup semi-final
The prize money clubs receive from most competitions is extremely high.
That is one of the reasons why every team wants to get as far as they can in every single competition.
Arsenal’s main priority this season is the Premier League and Champions League titles, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to do well in the two domestic cups.
Arteta’s men are three steps away from lifting the Carabao Cup, a competition they haven’t won for over 30 years.

The aim will be to go all the way in the League Cup, but the financial rewards are not great at all.
For winning the quarter-final against Crystal Palace, Arsenal’s prize money was £25,000. They made £10,000 and £15,000 for qualifying through the third and fourth rounds respectively, taking their tally in the Carabao Cup so far to £50,000.
If Arsenal win their two-legged semi-final against Chelsea, they will earn another £25,000, and a victory in the final will boost their purse by £100,000. [EFL Analysis]
So, if Arsenal win the Carabao Cup, their total earnings from the competition would be £175,000, which is about the same as what Kai Havertz earns every four-and-a-half days at Arsenal.

Arsenal have already made a fortune in the Champions League
Financially, the Carabao Cup will not be on The Kroenkes’ minds.
The Arsenal owners will have their eyes on the Premier League and the Champions League, and they have already pocketed a big sum from the latter.
The Gunners have earned a whopping €92.2 million (£80.9m) after winning each of their first six games in Europe this season.
That is absolutely massive, especially when you compare it to the £50,000 they have won in the Carabao Cup so far.
For that reason, the Champions League will be the priority, but winning the League Cup would be great too for Arteta and his players.
