Simon Jordan has doubled down on his opinion that Arsenal wasted funds last year to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea.
The Germany international was a surprise signing for the north London side as Arsenal spent close to £65m to sign the 24-year-old talent, who this season has developed well under Mikel Arteta.
Havertz’s versatility has made the former Chelsea star a useful option for Arsenal, with the attacking midfielder scoring in the last four Premier League games playing in the centre-forward role.

Yet speaking on Outspoken, TalkSport pundit Jordan doubled down on his view that Arsenal wasted their money signing Havertz, despite the German carving quite a role for himself in recent weeks.
Arsenal fans have warmed up greatly to the former Bayer Leverkusen star, and there’s real hope that Havertz can become a superstar at the Emirates Stadium under Arteta’s training and guidance.
Yet Simon disagreed, with the pundit saying: “They are markedly better, Arteta is a better manager, they’re a better team, people like Havertz are even adding some value.
“I don’t care what people think of my observations of Havertz, I think it’s £65m badly spent, but that’s up on Arsenal, who if they want to make him an influential player then good luck to them.”

Havertz’s transformation at Arsenal has been stark, with the former Chelsea man establishing himself as one of Arteta’s key players and a real focal point for the north London side’s attack.
And whilst Jordan hasn’t been convinced yet, many other pundits have gladly put their hands up and admitted that they were initially wrong about Arsenal signing Havertz last summer.
Yes, the Germany international still has some way to go before justifying the £65m price tag, but signs this season have been great, and Havertz could become a long-term member of the Arsenal team for many years to come.
