‘I know perfectly’: Pep Guardiola makes bold Arsenal prediction for next season

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola spoke to the media today about his former assistant and current Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

City were crowned as the new Premier League champions earlier this week. They have been miles better than every other side in the country and not one person can argue that they don’t deserve their crown.

That’s now three Premier League trophies in the last four years which is a sensational record. Guardiola deserves a ton of credit for what City have managed to do since he took over and what they will do in the coming seasons.

There is no doubt about the fact that they will start the campaign as favourites again, but Guardiola has claimed today that every other top club in the country, including Arteta’s Arsenal, will be stronger next term.

Guardiola: Arteta’s Arsenal will make a step forward

He said: “Last season we couldn’t compete against Liverpool, they were unstoppable, but we were second. Every season we are close, next season we want to be close again. Every season I have the feeling everyone is stronger, every year, from the first season we arrive the teams and managers are stronger.”

Arsenal’s performances this season have truly been woeful. Our league position says the entire story, and as much as other factors have played a big part, Arteta is the one who will be held responsible at the end of the day.

Some fans are calling for his head already, and if the Arsenal boss is judged on results and results only, he doesn’t really have a leg to stand on, does he?

However, this was Arteta’s first full season in charge and a lot has happened off the pitch. That has directly impacted the players, which is one of the biggest reasons why we are where we are in the league table.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that Guardiola is right. Arsenal have to improve next season and the improvement has to be huge. If Arteta cannot lead the club to a top-four finish next term, he will likely be shown the door, which would be a real shame.
