Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has shared his prediction for this weekend’s clash between Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal will travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday to contest a Premier League fixture with Chelsea.

The Gunners will be keen to pick up from where the left off before the international break, when they beat reigning Premier League champions Manchester City. A win against the Blues will also ensure that Mikel Arteta’s side stay ahead of City in the table.

Whilst Chelsea have endured a tough start to the season, Arsenal can’t expect an easy ride in this London derby face-off. Mauricio Pochettino’s squad is stocked full of players who can hurt the Gunners. The likes of Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, and Mykhailo Mudryk, amongst others, all have the capacity to cause problems for the north London club.

Despite these concerns, Arsenal will be confident heading into this match.

Kevin Campbell shares match prediction

Kevin Campbell is also feeling positive about his former club’s chances.

Speaking to The Highbury Squad, the 53-year-old shared his prediction for the outcome of the match. He said, “I want to say now because I do fancy our [Arsenal’s] chances. I think we’ll win the game 2-0. I’ll be honest, I don’t care who scores. The key is, we stay winning.”

Arteta will feel much the same way. He won’t mind who grabs the goals, as long as Arsenal return to the Emirates Stadium with three points in tow. However, Kai Havertz and Jorginho will be hoping to impress if given the chance to play against their former club.

All that really matters though is that Arsenal keep winning. If they are to mount a successful title challenge this season then every match, every point, matters.

The standard at the top end of the Premier League is now so high, the margin for error so narrow, that only near-perfection over the course of a full campaign will do. Having fallen short late on last season, Arsenal need to have learned this lesson by now.
