Tony Adams is an Arsenal legend who knows how to win big games and he’s predicted a huge future for this current squad ahead of the Carabao Cup final.

Arsenal can win what they hope will be the first of four major trophies by beating Man City at Wembley today.

Indeed, speaking ahead of the game live from Wembley, former skipper Adams has suggested this could be just the start.

Tony Adams predicts big trophy haul for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta

Adams himself was a key player for Arsenal under managers like Bruce Rioch, George Graham and of course, Arsene Wenger.

And speaking to Sky Sports, Adams believes Arsenal’s time is coming under Mikel Arteta.

“I don’t really care [how Arsenal win games]. I go back to the George Graham era, we would do anything, we knew how to win. Get over the line first, what people say is irrelevant. This squad is going to win a lot of stuff in the next few years, I’m so excited,” Adams said ahead of the cup final.

“The word resilient comes up. The squad we put together. We were just so resilient. First and foremost, we won a lot of games 1-0. We had Wrighty who nicked us goals but we set our stall out, be good defensively. The only time Arteta has won anything is when he won the FA Cup and the whole team was so resilient.

“To get over the line, be resilient. Yeah, get a scrappy corner. Get over the line. Don’t worry about what people say. It’s irrelevant.”

Comparing this Arsenal team to his under Graham, Adams went on further.

“I love it. The amount of quality players in the squad. Set plays, a little bit too much pushing and shoving but we got a goal against Tottenham here. I’ve blocked for Andy Linighan, but again, you have to be resilient.”

Arsenal will be desperate to get one up on City at Wembley today.

A defeat might just give Pep Guardiola’s side a slight edge in terms of mentality but should Arsenal win, then City will very much feel this season is wrapped up completely.
