Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had his say on Arsenal’s latest signing Martin Odegaard.

The Gunners signed the Norwegian from Real Madrid on loan until the end of the season. Odegaard’s arrival has lifted the spirits in and around the Emirates, and many feel he will be a huge success.

Solskjaer, also a Norwegian, knows Odegaard very well. He has seen the midfielder develop and perform brilliantly for Norway over the years, and he believes that Arsenal have signed a ‘very talented young player’.

He said, as quoted by the Evening Standard: “Of course, Martin is a very talented young player and we know from the national team that he can cause any team problems.

“I just hope he’s not finding his form on Saturday. I wish him all the best. He’s a good boy, good attitude, right character, so I’m sure they’ve made a good signing there.”

That really is high praise from someone who has seen Odegaard play for a long time. Solskjaer is hoping his compatriot has a quiet game tomorrow at the Emirates, but Arsenal fans will be praying for the complete opposite.

Should Odegaard start against Man United?

Mikel Arteta stressed in his press conference yesterday that Odegaard will need a bit of time to settle in. (Arsenal.com) The Norwegian hasn’t played a lot over the last two months, and adjusting to the pace and physicality of the Premier League is never easy.

However, if Emile Smith Rowe isn’t fully fit for tomorrow’s game, Arteta will have no choice but to rush our new signing – just like Gabriel was forced to start against Fulham at the start of the season.

Odegaard will have to start in that number 10 role and if he can deliver on his debut against one of our biggest rivals, he will become an instant hero.
